The Family Site of the Day tour of presidential libraries continues with a stop at the museum and library of the only President that was not elected to the office. Can you guess which one it is?

The Gerald R. Ford Library and Museum is the repository for the papers and memorabilia of the Ford administration. His two and one-half year term started when he succeeded President Nixon upon his resignation. Nixon appointed him Vice-President when Spiro Agnew resigned from that office. Thus he was never elected to the office of the President. Here you will find information not only on his Presidency, but his terms in Congress (which included serving on the Warren Commission that investigated President Kennedy’s assassination), as well as his early years. There are extensive photographs available to look at, as well minutes from Cabinet meetings.

President Ford was not in office very long, but it was a very interesting period in our country. Enjoy your stop here.
